David became Monty's loving elder brother but Gary's drinking ruined the family as one day, in a drunken fit, he hit Maria back during an argument and killed her. Monty remembers how he first entered this home, as Gary's illegitimate son from an affair, and how Maria overcame her own inner turmoil to accept him. Back in their dark home, Gary smashes mirrors and weeps. The flowers get crushed under their feet. As he rushes at David, Gary forces Monty back. Monty sees this from his car and is outraged. Gary wants to meet his granddaughter, little Maria, but David tells Gary to go away and pushes him. When they return home, Gary has come to meet David, holding flowers. In a flashback at the hospital where his daughter is having treatment, David remembers his bleak, dark life before he met Jenny.

Cheerful manager Badshah (Ashutosh) recognises Gary as a champ but Monty, despite expectations, loses the fight. Monty goes for a prize-fight where Braganza is watching the sport. Monty takes Gary home where Gary is furious to see furniture moved about in a style different to his wife's. He is greeted outside jail by his son Monty (Siddharth) but Monty gets upset when Gary asks about his elder son David (Akshay). Gary looks desperately for his wedding ring and wife Maria's (Shefali) pictures in his belongings. Meanwhile, an elderly, trembling Gary Fernandes (Jackie), former fight champion, is being released from Thane Central Jail after years.
